So, the ever so lovely Ms. Jürs sent me a candy offering, because I’m so sweet and adorable and hard to resist ♥

Well, not really, but the point is, she did send me a parcel from Japan containing all kinds of random candy, that I hadn’t seen before in my life. It wasn’t for me exclusively though (unfortunately…), so I won’t be reviewing all the candies and snacks, since there has to be enough to go around.

That having been said, I’ll start you off with the full 2 kg glory of everything she sent me(/us):

Aries Spears Live

Bremen Teater stage

Today, I went with two good friends, Aku and Duracell, to watch Aries Spears live in Copenhagen.

The show was fucking insaaaaaaaaane! We laughed so fucking hard, I think I may have pee’d a little. While there were a couple of familiar sketches, it was like about an hour of all-new material and random improv – so friggin’ cool!

The warm-up guy, however, who opened with “I just won the DK championship in stand-up“, bombed so incredibly hard that I almost wept for the coming generation of people, who missed out on when Danish comedians were actually funny…

Looking past that, it was a cool evening with friends, food, and fun. Also, Spears is totally down to earth, which is so cool. After the show, he took pictures with literally every person in the audience – blew my mind.

Anywho, Spears was fucking awesome, so if he’s coming to your area, invest in a ticket, it’s worth it!

Long time no… whatever this qualifies as!

It’s been almost a year since I posted anything here, what the fuuuuuuck? Since no one wants to read a post three miles long, here’s my last year in brief notes.

Education

Got screwed over a bit by my school administration (TWICE!!), so I’m currently not done with my bachelor’s, since I was missing 7.5 ECTS points (a semester elective) to be able to graduate. I’m currently doing that and should be done around early or mid May.

Work

Shut up, it’s an improvement!

One of my part-time jobs turned into a full-time job, and I managed to work my way up from a being paper-pusher to being a full-blown manager (say whaaaaaaaat!?), who suits up and goes to investor meetings with huge banks and multinational conglomerates – that I’m not allowed to name as per my contract – to help close deals worth millions and millions of kroner.

That’s like fucking insane! Obviously, my efforts only amount to maybe 5-10% of the deal, but it’s often the make or break moment, so the pressure is definitely on. But seriously, that feeling when you’ve helped close a deal worth millions is such a major high, that you can feel it tingling in your body for hours after!

Inversely, when you fuck up and lose the deal, it’s also a MAJOR kick in the balls, lulz. Further, I had to have a complete image make-over, because if you want a company to invest a million bucks, you need to LOOK like a million bucks, so out with t-shirts, beards, and unkept hair – in with the sexy, the shirts, the clean-shaven face (save for the trademark soul patch), and hairstyling.

Relationship

True story

Broke up with Nashayla because stuff just wasn’t working out between us. We were gonna break up anyway when she was supposed to go to Japan for 2 years (last August) to study for her master’s, which I was cool with as long as we could spend the last few months together to make the best of the time we had left.

She responded by shutting me out and and playing online games 16 hours per day, which made me feel pretty miserable. After about two months of that, I had had enough and gave her the choice between reducing the amount of time she spent on the game by half or we were over – her reaction was to shut the door on me and continue playing, lulz XD

Last I heard from her family, she’s still addicted to the game and she never left for Japan, but has been lying to everyone pretending that she’s there, even going as far as lying about her sister being hospitalized, when people saw her and asked how come she was in Denmark. I dunno if she quit her education in order to be able to keep playing.

I have been dating a few girls since though, so no hard feelings on my part. I was pretty pissed at first, but later realized that it wasn’t worth the energy being mad at the world, so I moved on and often joke about it now. Also, I’m seeing a really sweet girl at the moment, but more on that some other time (maybe) ;P

Health

Post-op; my eyes are open, honest!

Around the same time as I broke up with Nashayla, my momz had an acute myocardial infarction (sudden heart attack), and nearly died. She spent about a week in the hospital, where she also had a minor procedure done (she had a stent implanted), and was then released.

She’s currently doing a lot better, but is probably gonna be on meds for the rest of her life, which sucks donkey balls.

Not long after that, it was my turn to almost die. Because of all the stress of work, Nashayla, and my momz, I hadn’t been taking very good care of myself, to the point that I practically didn’t eat or sleep any more. I lost about 20 kg in the span of 6 months, most of which was muscle that had just atrophied away.

Doctors initially thought I had developed sudden onset lymph cancer, which freaked the fuck out of my family, who’d start crying whenever they called. The tests came back negative, and doctors concluded that the causes were overwork, lack of rest, and malnourishment, but by then, my body was in such a sad state that I needed immediate surgery, since an old surgery wound in my stomach had opened, spilling my intestines.

The surgery had complications, and I almost bleed out internally, but managed to get home in time for Christmas, though I was confined to my bed for an additional two or three weeks. I’m doing a lot better now, but I’ll be stuck in physical therapy until at least August (sigh…)

Perspective of life

Turned 25 years old during last summer – woot woot – and it makes me feel like an old man being old; pondering stuff like when am I gonna get married, have kids, what have I accomplished with life, and have I been everything I could be and done everything I could do. The answer was no, which was kinda depressing, but figured fuck that, better start now then!

That, coupled with all the other shit that had gone on since last summer, made me reach out to a lot of my old friends and also prepare myself mentally and financially for in case something was to happen to me again, so I now have a life-insurance with my mom as the beneficiary, so she can get by :)

Final words of wisdom

Living every day as if it were your last is BS, and just leads to taking pointless risks while shouting “YOLO!”

Live every day as if it were your second last – get your shit in order, prepare for the worst, spend time with those you love, and get up in the morning saying “I’m gonna be all I can be, so if I were to close my eyes tonight and never wake up again, I can leave with no regrets, but if I do, I can be proud of the person looking back in the mirror.”

Instant Noodle King

Instant Noodle King is made by the same company that makes the QQ noodles I reviewed some time back (Sun Shun Fuk), and as such, shares the lid design I like.

The difference between QQ and Instant Noodle King is that QQ has glass noodles while Instant Noodle King has noodles made with tapioca and wheat flour.

This gives them a similar taste to egg noodles, which I like a loooooot more. As such, I have high hopes for these.

Never Lupus..?

Most of you readers will most likely know of 9gag.com.

I’m probably one of the root causes that it has spread in my circle of friends, since I always posted stuff from there on Facebook, and the reason I know of it is because Henryacores did the same.

I recently made and posted the image of Conspiracy Keanu, seen on the right, talking about Lupus in the show House, M.D. Thus far, the results have been crazy.

Within the last 30 or so minutes, my image has gone from a mere 59 likes and 2 Facebook shares (one being my own), it has exploded to 1295 likes and 38 Facebook shares, and still climbing.

Thanks to whoever was the third person to share it, since it seemed to have happened after that!

I somehow feel a bit proud and taken aback, seeing that it’s the first thing I’ve made that’s gotten passed 60 likes. It would be a cool Internet achievement, if it was to make it all the way to the front/hot page 8D

Awesome candy from Nash

I’m not quite done with the stuff I got from KAIKI, but since Nash has returned from Japan, I’m doing a quick one here, since the candy she brought looks really yummy!

With one exception, the candies Nash brought me were anime themed. For the most part with pictures of Chopper from the manga and anime One Piece, since she absolutely adores the character.

Since Nash is currently in Japan and has promised me awesome snacks and treats that I’m dying to try, I figured I should make good on the post I made early December last year.

So after a bit of sorting, I finally get around to tasting the 50+ different Chinese candies that KAIKI gave me as a birthday present, so that I can make room for the awesome stuff Nash is bringing me~

But since that craaaaazy broad (KAIKI) brought me so many different things, I’ve been forced to split up the review into several smaller pieces, that I’ve tried to keep themed as best I can.

Also, since all the candy is Chinese, I have no fucking clue concerning what any of the candies are called, so please bare with me.

Another noodle brand review, but more in the style of my usual candy ones. This time is Mama Noodles, a noodle product from Thailand with a huge variety of flavours, top sellers (online) being their Shrimp Tom Yum, Shrimp Cream Tom Yum, and Wai Wai Oriental Style flavours.

Mama noodles come in both cups and packets, but here in DK, only packets are available. They are only sold in specialty stores in China/Asia Town and not in regular supermarkets.

Sup? As you’ve all noticed, I haven’t update for a long time. Life has been a mess of exams, work, issues, and work, so I haven’t really had time or motivation to update M Dash.

Right around the time I had written the Chinese New Year post, a member of my family, who had suffered a stroke and subsequently slipped into a coma, passed away in his sleep. Having been a father figure to me throughout my childhood and teen years, I was ‘feeling down’ to say the least. Right around the same time, I was having relationship issues with Nashayla (we eventually worked things out though).

Additionally, I’ve been working a 9 to 5 job while also studying for two exams; one I’ve passed, the other I have yet to get the result of. Furthermore, I’ve been working on a webshop for a company owned by two of my friends. It’s in beta mode, but if you’re interested in cosplay and anime/manga merchandise, please go have a look.

But needless to say, all unnecessary stuff, like updating this blog, has been kept on the backburner while I try to organize my life. I’m just happy that I have my momz, my lovely girlfriend, and my friends keeping me busy, cause otherwise, I might have gotten crushed by the sheer weight of it all.

QQ Noodles

QQ Noodles

Here comes another noodle brand review, like the Koka one I did a few months back. This time, I’m reviewing some flavours from the brand QQ, but since I could only get three flavours here in Denmark, I’ll probably amend this post at some point.

I’ll be keeping a similar format to the other review, but in addition to boiled and fried, I’ll be adding on the taste of the soup itself, something I completely neglected with the Koka noodles.

A thing I should mention, which surprised me at least, is that QQ noodles are glass noodles and not the usual wheat noodles, which I suppose is good news for people with gluten allergies.

A ‘feature’ I really like about the cups is that it has a hole the size of a large needle in the lid, allowing hot air to escape at a slow pace. Lids without holes tend to ‘swell up’ and become difficult to remove, especially if you poured in too much water.

A very merry Christmas from M Dash!

I spent my Christmas with Nashayla and her family, having my first Danish Christmas since childhood, when my grandparents were still alive, and trying certain foods for the first time ever! :D

The day consisted of us going to church, singing, coming home, eating a feast of a Christmas dinner, singing some more, and then opening some presents.

I got a gift certificate for 10,000 Japanese yen (for books) and a framed photo from Nashayla of herself, which is now sitting on my work desk ♥

CAESAR THE GUARDIAN KITTY!

I gave a lot of gifts this year, totalling roughly 2,000 DKK! owo

I gave my mom a “best mom in the world” medal and money.
I gave Nash’s dad the album Flash Gordon by Queen and two beers from Sarajevo.
I gave Nash’s mom the book 1Q84 (the first one in the trilogy).
I gave her sister a pair of breakfast bowls, since she recently moved out.
I gave Nash two pairs of white gloves and a joke gift.

Our presents were well protected by the guardian cat of Hell’s gates, Caesar! >:3

All in all, a pretty awesome experience, and I’m really grateful that they let me take part. Apparently, it’s a first for her parents to let outsiders join ^^’

1 Year Anniversary

'Sup, brah? Whatchu lookin' at?

Not much to say; it’s our – Nashayla and I – one-year anniversary today, the day before Christmas Eve~♪

I had wanted to take her out to her favourite restaurant, but it was unfortunately closed for the holidays, so we went for a sushi place where I’ve gotten in good with the owners ;P

We then came home and exchanged gifts – she gave me a penguin game and I gave her a penguin sweater to keep warm during winter – and watched the animated Pixar film, Ratatouille. She fell asleep halfway through while hugging me, it was so adorable ♥

So yeah, short post, but I just wanted to share my happiness for tonight ^-^
