Besides, like stated in the text, this is just a recipe for the most basic of fried noodles, for people on a tight budget. For additional things, like prawn, broccoli, etc., people are on their own ;P

Not exactly the way I make them! I used Masi Goreng noodles. I boil them then I fry them. Drain them first! I add in fried eggs, broccoli, prawns, peas, carrots and sometimes some chilli. I’m all for protein and carbs, so I avoid thing like fried meat. Sorry Hector, I kind gave my own recipe! But yours was really good, even though the presentation was a bit weak!

@Mary: It was my pleasure ^-^
It was the same here with me; people would look at me weird when I said I celebrate Christmas in January, but I had a few friends who’d wish me a merry Christmas on the 7th, and it meant a lot to me.
One time, they even bought me a giant box of Twix as a present XD

But I hope you and your daughter have a pleasant Christmas and that she’ll enjoy some of our (old?) traditions c:

I am so glad I googled Serbian Christmas! We always celebrated as kids and people thought we were crazy. My grandpa was Serbian and though he was not religious we always got gifts for Serbian Christmas. Now I celebrate with my daughter and will try to incorporate some new traditions. Thanks for sharing!!

* If you have a slice of bread you must finish it or you will be poor in life;
* To ward of “witches” keep a knife next to your window. I think this is more of a “villager” ritual;and
* To ward of the evil eye- sprinkle salt around the house at night.
