Snowy Serbia

So, I’m currently in Serbia with pretty much no Internet connection. It’s been snowing non-stop since I got here, and we’ve reached 50-100 centimetres in some places. The picture on the right is of my house in Draginac.

It’s pretty nice, if not for tomorrow being the Day of the Dead, which means we have to burrow through the snow for 2-3 kilometres to reach the family grave and light candles. But all good, tradition trumps wet pants ;P

Anywho, as most of you have probably guessed, being in Serbia means I have little to do, other than work on Comic Party translations and scanlate. This means that once I return to Denmark, I’ll be releasing some new chapters of Grappler Baki, so look forward to that c:

Hail Storm

Yesterday (at time of writing, I don’t know when this might be published), on July 8th, we got hit by a minor natural disaster. It was a rain and hail storm of unseen proportions, not just for me, but also for the people who had lived all their lives here. The hails we insanely big; on average, they were the size of rubber baseballs, but some were as big as small melons. In the video just below, you’ll hear me laughing my ass off, but that’s how I usually deal with stuff that is way over my head; the situation was in fact pretty dire as there was a chance of the hail actually actually smashing through the front window, as it did on many other cars, and seriously injuring us.

We were able to get to some degree of safety at the nearby gas station, but the aftermath was just insane. The roof tiles of many homes were smashed by the hail and the immense raining led to massive water damages. Also, any harvest was smashed to bits by the hail, so a lot of people lost their livelihood and today (the day after), while at my barber’s, I heard of his neighbours who talked about suicide because they are simply unable to manage the costs of the damages to their properties and the loses of what they had grown (tomatoes, watermelons, apples, etc.) which they can no longer sell, as well as being forced to sell of their livestock because they don’t have the means to support them anymore and because they need the money to rebuild.

While my immediate family were among the lucky ones, with only half the roof smashed to crap and only little water damage, the cost of my barber’s family and that of his neighbours were in the thousands of Euro (per family), many of which do not earn more than half of that in a year, before taxes, bills, living expenses, etc. This was an unfortunate event that fucked over a lot of good people… Mother Nature can be a bitch at times.

At this point in time, I’m probably living in the apartment me and my momz bought some years back. Construction finished some time the year before last and we were finally able to settle in last year. Anywho, I once promised to show it off and I guess now is finally the opportune time to do it. So do enjoy (and Kat, be sure to visit one day).

P.S. The entire top (i.e. 3rd) floor is mine.

Hello my lovelies ^^ I’m in an oddly good mood while writing this, which is all thanks to Michi to You All by Aluto. Anywho, later on today, I’ll be leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again, as I am going to Serbia for the summer yet again ^^ The reason I don’t know when I’ll be back again is because I have no idea of whether or not I’ve passed my written Japanese exam. If I passed, I’ll be away until about mid-August-ish, but if I failed, I’ll be back already late July in order to take my retake examination.

Anyway, since my family in Serbia doesn’t own a computer, I won’t be able to post anything while there unless I can get to borrow someone elses computer and dial-up Internet (we’re that old-school XD). In preperation for this, however, I’ve written a bunch of posts in advance and scheduled them to be published on specific dates to prevent the blog from loosing audience while I’m gone. A new post should be published every three days, so the next post will be on July 8th, then July 11th, and so on.

I’ll try to take as many pics as possible, as I promised Kat I’d do that, since she won’t be able to go back to Serbia this year. I’LL TAKE HAWT PICS FOR YOU, I PWOMISE!! ♥ Anywho, I’m off, wish me a safe trip and that I don’t die during the Spartan physical therapy or something XD

Hello my pets!! ♥ I haveth returned from Serbia with good news, images, and videos for you all to see and hear :3

First off, I finally got checked for cancer, and like suspected, the minor growth is benign and as long as I take precautions, it’ll stay that way, so it’s all good on that front :3

That out of the way, here’s what I’ve been doing; Absotively nada. I was bored out of my friggin’ mind!! O.o All the peepz I usually hang out with had to work or had to tend to their education, so I had no one to spend time with *pout* Did get my hair bleached and died purple, WHICH LOOKED AWESOME!!! And of course, my mom had to be a killjoy and force me to get a friggin’ haircut, which made it impossible to see I had purple hair, unless the light hit me JUST right…

Anywho, after a week of doing nothing but eat, sleep, and study kanji, I finally moved out to my apartment in Banja Koviljača (a separate post about that at a later time, pictures included). I of course had no TV, so my rythm of doing nothing but eat, sleep, and study kanji didn’t really change other than having to throw in three kinds of physical therapy in there; electrotherapy (interferential currents/Elektro-Muscular Stimulation), regular physical therapy (exercises), and hydrotherapy (exercises while in a sulphuric bath). Needless to say, I was tired and sore as phuck most days…

After 5 days of Spartan training (I’m such a wimp XD), it was time to head home, say bai baiz to my friends and head back to Denmark. And of course, it rained as a motherphucker… Usually, this is a good thing, cause I really like rain, but not when I’m carrying 50 kg of luggage…
