ASP Tekken 5 Tourney

NB! Load-time for the full post is long if you have a slow connection due to multiple images and videos. Sorry ^^’

The idea for an ASP (Asian Studies Programme) Tekken tourney, which was held Wednesday of this week, was pretty random. I asked a girl to translate something for me from Japanese about P. Jack (a Tekken character) to make sure my own translation was correct, she then tells me she’s played Tekken before, and within five minutes, the tourney was on! XD

I tried inviting as many people from the ASP I could and had some friends invite the ASP peepz I didn’t know personally. 44 people had been invited (over Facebook), 9 of which said they’d come, and 15 of which had said maybe. However, in the end, only six people showed up for the tourney, including myself :/ While I was fairly confident I was going to win (or at the very least get second place) due to my experience, I was really hoping to find someone good enough to give me some decent fights and to actually find the mythological creature called “girl good at fighting games“. I suspected one of my sempai to be of this extremely rare breed of women, but was completely blown out of the water to find out that Wang-chan was one too, so I was totally “WAAAAAH!! O.o” the first time I saw her play.

Anywho, respect goes out to Signe, who showed up even though she had never tried the game before (she actually got pretty good real fast) and to Emil and Wang-chan who showed up despite having exams in less than a week. I don’t have much else to say about the event, so I think I’ll just add the score-tables and the few videos I recorded so y’all can see how it went.

Conclusion

So in the end, I became the King of Iron Fist Tournament!!, and my prize was 300 grams of mixed candy XD However, since I had expected this outcome right from the get-go, I gave the candy for everyone to share since that seemed like the only fair thing to do =3 But it was totally a fun day, and I really enjoyed it a lot so my “hidden agenda” of having an awesome time was a success ^^ Hope everyone else did too, and maybe, we’ll host another tourney one day.
